An early 20th Century watercolour of great quality and detail, depicting a 15th Century cavalier sporting a royal crown.
rnIt is likely to be the Shakespearean actor Edmund Kean playing King Richard III in around 1817.
rnHis attire is sumptuous and the detailing quite remarkable.
The work is in great condition, and housed in an early 20th Century frame. However the watercolour is quite possibly of earlier date (1850’s?)
rnIt bears a circular stamp on the bottom right hand corner which is difficult to decipher without taking it out of its frame.
Height 53.5cm. Width 43.5cm
